Suggest me a good hosting for my site.

    Hello friends,
    I'm thinking to create a website (should be a WordPress blog). It will be a ebook related blog where I wanted to upload a lot (more than 2000) of ebooks in PDF format and anyone will be able to download them from the blog (from the host actually). PDF files can be 10MB+ in size. I'm not sure if all the hosting companies allow to upload that much large files. I've been using a hosting company which doesn't allow me to upload more than 2MB file.

    Which hosting do you suggest for my purpose? What about HostGator?

    Please let me know your views.

    Thanks;
    Razib

    Most of the hosting companies will not allow you to host PDF files for download as it will drain their server resource and bandwidth. Don't go for CHEAP Overselling Unlimited hosts.

    If your e-books are legal than you should go for a VPS to host them otherwise hosting e-books for downloads in share environment is impossible.

    If your e-books are illegal or copyrighted then host them to rapidshare. Rapidshare is the ultimate solution for your file hosting. And all the hosting companies can easily host your wordpress blog about e-books.

    Cinetube is right. Most companies do not allow you to run a download site. You may want to look into getting yourself a VPS or dedicated server. With that, you can run your download site using your own dedicated resources.

    You probably need a VPS to host a download site like that. Check out A2hosting.

    This is probably one of the first threads like this on DP where I haven't seen a bunch of "hosters" go on a free for all!

    Like the others have said, i would probably go for a VPS as well. In a shared environment, hosts are more likely to be more stringent on what is hosted. Ebooks are considered very questionable because of potential copyright and legal issues. Even if you get a VPS, you're not necessarily exempt from it.
