any way I'm just going to try McAfee Security Center. But i will disable a few things to reduce the memory usage ( like parental control, personal firewall etc.) In fact I don't know what is the necessity behind firewalls.
I got avast too, but just wait for that google chrome them you prolly wont need an antivirus , nah avast free edition works fine for me, I've used AVG before, it used to be good back in the day, but I find it just eats too much memory/cpu usage, normally just ended up closing it, So I'd recommend Avast, although it does have a lot of security, Web Shield, Network Sheild, Im sheild, and some others
if you want the best just use nod32, it won't eat your processor and it's one of the best besides kaspersky
I go for Avast, because it is pretty "light" for a processor, and guards your computer fantastically!
I've used both AVG and Avast! I currently use Avast! because it updates itself automatically and it doesn't require any clicking or maintenance. It does use a lot of resources, but only when it's scanning which it does once a day usually when you first turn on your computer. You could always set it up to scan at a time when you are not actively using your PC. I haven't had any problems with viruses and the like and it actually stops the connection to sites with harmful software.
Hi, Yes been there I've tried a few anti virus programs and had the same problem, I was recommended EST Smart Security - it's very good and reasonably priced and doesn't slow down your computer when running in the background, you can set it up to run scans/updating databases at times when you are not using your computer to help with the slow response problem - that helps me - although I have 2 external hard drives attached and terabytes of disk space to scan!! They also give a free trial, so you can try before you buy, and its is compatible with Win7.
