I am involved with a telecom company. The top headsets sold by them are Plantronics, Jabra and VXi, in that order. VXi is seen as the real up-and-comer due to price and quality. My sales teams have been using Plantronics headsets for decades and they work very well, of course.

All brands you suggested looks substandard..... Beats look great but seems expensive and they not available in Local retailer easily.....

How about Sony headphones? are they better than Philips brand ?

Looks can be deceiving. Obviously, it depends on what you plan to use the headphones for, but the brands that I mentioned are used by millions of business professionals in call centers, conference rooms, in cube farms, etc. Plantronics is the 600-pound gorilla, of course. The three of them, combined, own just about all of the business headphone market. No other manufacturer is on the radar screen in that demanding space.

But, I suppose, for example, that gamers use different headphones altogether and have their own reasons for doing so. I only know the business world take on headphones.

I searched on ebay and Plantronics listed products from networking and strange type of items, few headphones that came up looked really bad design with no proper ear-on speaker etc...

I had very bad experience with Skull-Kandy, they look great in design and product is very bad and breaks within weeks of usage.

I'm using Marshall for over a year now. Based on my friends' experiences, they say that Sony is better than Phillips sound quality and durability-wise. Tried Bose but I think it's too expensive. If price is not an issue then you might want to try it. What is your purpose? Are you going to use it for everyday music or for recording/music making?
