Also please suggest the links and CD's for me who will explain the fundamental concepts of ASP.Net and will budge from Beginning to Intermediate and then Advance ASP.Net Concept and programming in asp. Also suggest me the books and links which straight away going to programming in asp.net after a brief introduction, since i want to learn the programming syntax and going to develop web sites for an application oriented. One book I would recommend you is "Pro ASP.NET 3.5 in C# 2008 , 2nd Edition by Matthew MacDonald and Mario Szpuszta...It is in C# though but you shouldnt' have a problem since both vb.net and C# are similar, in fact you can use online conversion tools to convert your code to either one.. The book includes great examples too, I have the ebook if you want it.
I didn't read any books but here is the three places where i learnt most things, I also went from vb6.0 to classic asp then to asp.net: http://www.w3schools.com/ http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/ http://www.411asp.net/ Also microsoft's MSDN provides a good reference.
"asp.net 2.0 unleased" this is also very good book to learn, it has all the content of asp.net with good example. or you can also "asp.net c# Professional" by Wrox publication.
You can see Text and video tutorials on Lynda.com .and also can download E-books for any technology...
