Please suggest any plugin to restrict the spam commnets in a wordpress blog. I own a blog but I am recieving bulk of spam comments. Here is the blog link: My wordpress blog
You can use Akismet which comes with Wordpress. It's free for personal use and something like $5 a month for commercial use.

Akismet, too. Promises to do this: Used by millions, Akismet is quite possibly the best way in the world to protect your blog from comment and track-back spam. It keeps your site protected from spam even while you sleep. To get started: 1) Click the "Activate" link to the left of this description, 2) Sign up for an Akismet API key, and 3) Go to your Akismet configuration page, and save your API key.
There is one thing about Akismet. Some commenters are flagged as spams, so when they comment they will land to an empty page. Also, Akismet can'T prevent spam bots comments, your spam folders will be full of bots comments, with growmap, you will have 0 bot comments. People were talking about this matter long time ago. This is why i use Akismet and growmap.
Am not sure if there's a plug-in that asks the person submitting a comment, questions like "enter the 3rd phrase in the following sentence: hrghr uoiwiwio nkfjsvjbsjb kjcsbc kscnksbck". I have seen this on several blogs other than Wordpress, if anyone knows if such a plug-in is available let OP and me know, am keen to give it a go on my blog. Akismet has a 99% success rate for my blog and apart from pingbacks I never really get any spam comments at all .
I personally moderate all my sites or have my own bot to post comments. I love to see the spam comments because its gives you insight to hot trends based off thier keywords.
