Hi all, Can someone please suggest a free XML sitemap generator, or is this something you guys think I should be doing manually? Also, should I include a URL for each individual product even if it's being passed via URL parameter repeatedly to the same detail page? For example: /detail.php?item=1001 /detail.php?item=1002 etc... I currently have over 3,600 active items. Come to think of it, maybe I should write a php script to do this. Dunno anything about spidering yet though. Okay, I guess I've asked enough questions. Thanks in advance!
Cool, thanks. I'd have to purchase the full version to go over 500 though. Would google/yahoo be okay with a giant sitemap?
Since you have over 500 pages, if you use Dreamweaver try Surveyor. Unlimited pages and it also builds HTML sitemaps. Dynamic PHP links are fine too. It will crawl your site to whatever depth you tell it to.
check out this one http://enarion.net/google/phpsitemapng/ Does excellent job for small sites...but never had so many links build up using it. But you can give it a try.
I would agree with what other have said: xml-sitemaps. I have made a general blog post about search engine submission, and I believe that the creation of a nice sitemap is very helpful to get the word out.
Every other tools are URL number restrictions(Say totally 500 urls only can e added, etc) Better go with gsitecrawler. Download and use this desktop tool. U can generate for any big ecommerce site too!
