Suggest a Horror Movie

I am looking for a movie that has an extra dimension to it. Not sure how to explain it but not just all gore but rather an in depth and witty story to it. A mystery with killer twists in the plot. Mystery/Thriller/Horror I suppose but can't explain it exactly.

    Here are some examples:

    Skeleton Key / Mirrors

    Timber Falls

    Curse of Alcatraz

Doesn't matter if it's a grade B movie really. Kind of looking for something like:

    - Closed down prison
    - On an Island
    - Vacation spot

There was one movie with a group of teenagers that went to a house in the woods and there was a killer in the neighbourhood. The guy has been killing for many years and he was a dentist or doctor. He killed his daughter (I think) a long time ago and he was partners in crime with someone at the police department. Coming on to the end of the movie, one of the cops die, and there is a fight scene between the surviving teens and him. It looks like he got killed and then his body vanishes and at the end of the movie he is going through a spot check calmly in a vehicle.

^^ If someone can tell me the name of that movie, I would really appreciate it ^^

I think if you're looking for a horror movie with a killer twist you've gotta to check Scream-1 (Wes Craven, 1996). Scream-2 & 3 were worse than the 1st one so I won't recommend those. Also there's a great horror/thriller movie with a snowy small camp settings. The Killer is some kinda alien which can enter human body. The title is The Thing (I think it's directed by John Carpenter, cmiiw).

I try to remember the dentist movie that you said. Still no clue

Dawn of the dead (remake) and [rec] (Original Spanish version of Quarantine) are two of the best horror movies I have seen.

Try to keep it newer. I enjoy horror movies that have a build up as well. I like movies that are telling the lives of the people but have a bit of a thriller side to it throughout the time and build up for a huge ending. So stuff like The Ring and Darkness Falls are a no-no but stuff like I know What You Did Last Summer or Disturbia is a yes-yes. Bad examples I guess as they are more of a mystery/thriller but I want a horror/thriller/mystery combo where it's a serial killer freak but being investigated or something - I can't explain what I want, just name names lol

I never said "scary" movies. I just mean horror movies. No movies are scary for me...just scripted. The scary *poo yourself* stuff is illegal.
