suggest a good hosting company

I'm using 3ix and honestly i regret it, I have few sites with them, they are constantly down. I have started a forum and its not helping.

When I contact them I get the same lame answers, I should say excuses.

    1. Can some one suggest a good host?
    2. How is it to move my forum?

I use 1and1 they are very affordable. Many people express difficulty with them for some reason...1and1 is very strait forward...as long as you use them for hosting and not for buying domains. I've been with them for 3 years and my site has never been down to my knowledge...

    1. I recommend Hostgator.. I'm hosting few of my forums their and I don't have any problems with them sofar.
    2. You have to backup( export) the database by signing into Cpanel » PhpMyadmin. Once you completed downloading it, sign into new host Cpanel » PhpMyadmin and import that database. Ask your Host support for further help.

Hostgator and Lunarpages. Both of them are awesome hosting. Go ahead with these, I am sure you will not face any kind of problem ever with your sites. :)

I have had a few problems with godaddy. I'm in the planning phase of migrating over to thinkhost. plus they are solar and wind powered. eco friendly.

I'll cast my vote for Asmallorange.

Not the cheapest, but they provide excellent service

Hostrocket, my first host (before I became a thrill seeker lol), and they were recommended by most of the people at vBulletin forums which is how I came across them.
