Guys, I'm freaked out! I have this bunch of blogs and websites, all of them small, but with original content. They are around 30, 40. The only monetizer I use is adsense. I was doing pretty well, growing my earnings, getting near my simbolic $1000/month About a week ago all my websites fell in the SERPS.. evryone of them.. from like 3rd,4th,5th positions to 5th page.. I got a bunch of websites into wallpaper niche.. they droped all the six to the very same page. Well, they are divided into 2 different hosts, so I don't believe into a host banning, or something like that.. It sounds like a punishment based into the adsense pub id.. even though it's hard to believe in something like that. Hope I've been clear.. If anyone have a clue about this stuff, please share!
Don't worry, the same thing happened to my sites a few days ago and everything went back to normal yesterday. Just give it some time...
May be its smartpricing. I'd suggest you to wait for a few more days and see if anything changes. Otherwise, you have to find out why you get smartpriced and short that out.
Just be patient and in the mean time build quality backlinks to your pages which you would like to rank for certain keywords. You need to look at SEO as a long term thing. There are bound to be fluctuations here and there. All you can do is keep on producing good content and promoting your sites through "legal" means.
It's also possible the wallpaper niche is becoming more competitive and you simply didn't get punished but they got promoted...but hard to believe considering you said you have original content. Like others have suggested the best way to fight an algorithm change, a sandbox, or a temp slump in rankings is to double your efforts with articles and link building...also recheck your Onpage SEO just to make sure you aren't leaving any traffic on the table.
How did you get links? Sound someone snitched on you to google. Tracked you with the adsense id. Or pages 1-4 ahead of you got their links in google.
It happens sometimes. The google logic behaves in its own way. Sometimes it believes you have spammed while backlinking. There are also times when google thinks that you are trying to seel your page rank juices. The problem is that they never tell you what went wrong. So you have to guess yourself what you did since last some days. Was it link exchange ? or something related... This is my personal experience anyway. I posted reconsideration request to google twice via https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/dashboard It took 19 days to get back my keyword position. Some other possibiliies of penalty may be website is sandboxed website uses too much copied content Using sneaky redirects...or so... Find out..Rectify....Have Patience... Good Luck...
Do not worry about it. Many webmaster in my country often get that sittuation. Sometime google has ranked all sites again, so our rank can be changed, up or down belong to the content of the site and the value of the information on site.
I hope time will put me back on track.. Well, I don't have any ilegal backlinking.. I post some blog comments and stuff, have some blogs of mine that are especifically to build links, but there's no single linking method that is linked to every site of mine.. so it's very weird the way it happened. Well, I found out this yesterday: my oldest site used to be in a free host, some months ago I changed it to one of my paid hosts, but the website.freehost.com subdomain kept there, with the same site.. Google always ranked my maindomain site.. BUT, with this drop, the website.freehost.com suddenly got the position of the maindomain into some keywords.. I thought this very curious nad I even hosted back my site there into the freehost. bit confusing my text, I think.. =]
