Hi, usually on my homepage I only have around 1-2 guests at most online (It's new gimme a chance :p ) but suddenly it's gone up to around 60 Guests online, slowly rising by about 10 every couple of minutes.

Would this be because of my recent StumbleUpon activities or is it something I should be worried about?

    Thanks :)

Why don't you check your website's stats and determine where these new visitors are coming from?

Gotta be happy with that! Just go with it :)

I had 19 guests when I went on to my forum one day and I nearly had a heart attack cos it was new and I had a look at the IP's and they were yahoo spiders lmao. :p

Hope your website stays busy for you!

Try Google Analytics to see where your visitors come from, its easy enough to use.

Spiders account for one 25 - 60 guests nearly all the time for one of my sites.

You could also be dealing with spambots. Is your site indexed by Google? I myself was watching a group of these crawling my website for web forms to submit their spam via, eventually they found a few forms I was using for contact purposes on the website and sticked to them until I was forced to implement a captcha protection to drive them away. IP blocking doesn't always help. In fact, it often doesn't do any good. I had to repeat the same thing with the registration form. Don't think you'd be happy to see the visits counter increase due to spambots guests :)

Most of the guests are likely to be spiders, especially if you have contextual advertising.
