    Hi all,

I am working on a website related to gadgets. In July I was getting traffic near to 1000 visits per day. In the mid of August my traffic boosted up to 2000 visits per day. Then it went down to 500 visits and again came up to 1500. But now my website traffic hardly gets 500 visits.

I am unable to understand that what could be the problem. Please help!!

You should check to make sure that you're still ranking for all your keywords correctly in Google. Then, you should also make sure that the increase in traffic in August was not due to a link from a website that was sending traffic your way and the traffic has stopped after the link has been removed.

It is a matter of time that the traffic stabilizes. It happens for any new website. Continue your SEO campaign as usual. There will be stability in the daily traffic. Also, keep an eye on the visitor statistics. It will always give you an idea of what needs to be done when in order to maintain and increase visits.

First you have rank well and constant for your good traffic generating keywords. If you get this i think you don't have to worry about drop in traffic , it may be some ignorable drop. Don't rely on social media sites and book mark sites too much look for organic traffic.

The way out is to identify the traffic sources that have "disappeared".

This can only be done if you were hitherto tracking your visitor statistics probably with Google analytics, statcounter, wordpress plugin etc

Once you identify the missing traffic sources, you can now investigate why they stopped. Probably you are no longer ranking for some keywords you used to rank for.

Therein then lies the action you need to take to remedy the situation.

Recently, our server has been moved from shared to dedicated. I guess it may have created some temporary impact.

Yaah, theres always ups and downs. Its rare to get the exact same amount of views every day. Don't worry about it too much.
