A site of mine suddenly appears on page one of google. I get excited at the new ranking and huge traffic. I promptly put up ads --> Some ads are 'fishy'... like, dating, adult...etc. Site disappears off the charts, although still showing up in some datacenters. Could this sudden disappearence of my site from the first page be from the new ads placed less than 24 hours ago? Site was on page 1 for 3 days. Assume: No blackhat. Not banned. Allinanchor - Ranked on the first page. Site is 4 years old. Or is this just google slowely working my site in?
It's hard to say at this point... but I've noticed when someone links to you often times you get a push up in the SERPS for a few days then you drop back a few spots. Once the link(s) gets more maturity then you start coming back up. IMO
Thanks for the quick reply -- I should add that the reason I ask is because I'm trying to decide whether or not to pull the ads... it IS a good source of cash flow... but i have to decide the pros and cons if the ads are really harming my site. What do you think?
Leave it for now.... there are so many things that can have an effect I would wait it out a bit longer than a few days.
