Sudden ranking drop, what is the possibility?

Hey Gang!

I have one website has been ranking on Google page 1 for few very high competitive keywords for a month plus, suddenly the ranking of those keywords are dropping to page 6 or 7.

Not only 1 keyword but mostly high competitive keywords. What is the possibility or such case happened?

Is it the link building problem? Or someone has deleted the link? Or Google has change the way its see how link was build? Bear in mind I didn't use any paid links service. All are naturally build.

Would like to hear some SEO experts comment here. How do I trace this problem?

This problem is facing many people from a week.

Everything will come in to normal position.

The sudden drop is also common in Google, and after little time it gets back to its original stage

Just utilize the each and every optimization technique

Thanks Karpok. Did you faced this problem before? It was strange. Last time I saw other website having this issue too. I am trying to boost the ranking back by doing extra link building job, do you think it is recommended? Sorry, I am not good in SEO. Please tell me more guys.

I'm experiencing the sudden dropping in ranks too. Sometimes it goes back to normal but sometimes it takes time to recover as long as I keep building links.

Most of the time this happen in very competitive keywords/niches. That's why it's important to continue adding backlinks to your site even when you are already on the first pages.

 

Its happen to me as well. freezine was right even when we reach the top do not stop the link building. I hope my blog get back to its top position again

 

Thanks guys. How long would it take to recover the position? A week is long or more than that? I am losing revenue day to day if they ranking keep dropping. Daily uv is dropping from 20K to 4K / day... ouch

What is you r site because I have never experienced such a drop on any of my sites.....you could have been dinged for doing something bad@

 

Just keep to link building but don't do it massively. Keep your link building from website or blogs that are relevant to your site content. Never get link to your site from blogs or websites that also linked or link to bad neighborhood like gambling/casino, porn and drugs, google doesn't like it.

 

Can not sure how long to get back the position.
I think it's depend on the big G internal problem.
Just do whatever you do normally, as long as it's legal for google.

 

Confirmed myself that I didn't do any link building on porn or gambling sites. But it other webmaster did it to blacklist my site, it could be a possibility

It hurt a lot on my website dropping in ranking. This is the first time I am facing such issue. But I forsee other's competitors website are ranking pretty solid and ranking is not dropping.

DO you guys have any SEO tools we can traced for such problem?

 

Your experiencing is what you called google dance.. Google is just updating your PR.. Wait a little while and check the results.

 

It is very common thing, dont panic, you may regain your position, keep doing seo of your site.

 

it's common and happened to me many times. also there is opposite result too. don't worry

 

Even this does no happen to me, I am still extremely worried.

I felt like that Google could kill my website in a blink of eye

My web is still at page 4 after 1 month..
OK.. just continue my SEO work and let's see when will back to normal.

 

i face this problem alot but no worry cause other sub keyword bringing me a lot traffic now
btw my main keyword drop from #9 to out of no where again

 

If your ranking dropped only for this day maybe its fluctuating, try check it the next day.. if it is dropping everyday, its a major problem.
