I have been on page 1 of google for a competitive term for my site "www.FreeLayoutSites.com" for some time now and I suddenly just dropped to page 7 without me doing any changes... Anyone have any ideas? Term: "pimp myspace"
What do you mean by using the ad-network? As for inbound links I'm sure people have added links to their site pointing to mine as it's my topsite so there are always new inbound links being added.
the digitalpoint co-op ad-network, so i guess that's a no. Anyway, If you don't see a drop in links or anything, then it's prolly just some internal google adjustment, and no one will really know why. Maybe they just decided to not like you today I would wait a couple days, it may come right back. Check various DCs and see how they look.
Sometimes it could be as a result of a flux taht temporarily results in positions being dropped, only to come back stronger or in the same position.
Other people who are ranking for that term might be doing better than you, adding more links conent ect Thanks
You first have to wait a couple of days and see if your going to get back to the top, if you don't, you have to try to add more links to your website, valuable.
Its Google dancing these days, you have a thread about it on Google subforum My 2 Myspace sites were nockouted too, but after some 10 days, it seems that one of them is back today. So, be patient, will probably come back in some time
Hi, Google will often give a brand new site high rankings for the first week or so after it is indexed. But then the rankings will drop drastically, then (hopefully) begin a slow climb back toward the top.Try to get some genuine IBL from reputed sites related to your domain. This should help.
Might be worth checking out the high ranked competition now, backlinks, page rank and so on, seeing what they are doing that you are not. Your rankings may return, they may not but if you're doing what you can to get back up there then i'm sure you'll manage a limited recovery atleast, google does alot of tweaks to its code and for some its devastating and others its a god send, i've both been crushed and graced by google in the past :/
If you've suddenly dropped from page 1 to page 7 it's either a momentary blip, google switched to some random datacentre or you've been hit with some sort of penalty. Are you doing anything spammy? (hidden text, etc) or have you suddenly lost a lot of lins or changed your site structure recently?Sometimes takes a while but google generally finds you in the end! If it doesn't get better ina few days you really need to take a look at backlinks etc but patience is what is normally called for
Check again after a week and see if it's still the same. If not then maybe the competitors really outranked you. They must have done extra efforts before that just took effect. so see what you need to do. If you were in #1 before, see what the present #1 site has done then maybe you'll be able to figure what caused the drop.
Waited a few days so far moved up 1 page but still far down. I made no changes to my site. I have no hidden text from what I can tell.
