Sudden drop on several sites

I am ready to admit that maybe my content sucks or something. But right around Christmas, my ad revenue accross several sites suddenly plummeted from about $10 a day to .50 cents a day. This is the case with TribalFusion as well.

Did this happen to anyone else? Did something happen?

Was there a pagerank update? Are advertisers paying less?

If I'm the only one, then again, I'm ready to recognize that maybe my content started to suck or something, haha

Me as well. Traffic up, AdSence earnings down...way down. I guess people just arten't paying to advertise much now, so the low paying ads are at the top.

Right. There may be several reasons. Not the PR update or other stuff gonna have impact. Only your site's quality can impact this.

First I thought that since I am active in some sharing sites, they did some gimmick. But then the CTR and Ecpm also went drastically down. This is something to do with recession or adsense itself. Adsense is getting less advertisers and people are paying less I suppose. One reason to believe this theory is the recent adwords coupon they distributed here for every adsense account holder of standing ??!

Seems we need to explore new ways of online earning!( Who moved my earning...)

Just the fact that we dont really know what split were getting is wrong. There is so much fill in the blank when using Adsense yet their stock and profits are going up during an economic mess for everyone.

Actually economic mess is over in economic terms, expectations for better future might take some more time to adjust. But demand is up, output is back to where it was... Recessions aren't new in economics, happens every now end then... and it's about to clear out.

This same thing happened to me. I'm running Microsoft PubCenter ads (similar to AdSense but through Microsoft) and my earnings took a dip, too. Not going from $10/day to $.50/day, though, so there my be something else going on with your earnings.

Do not worry, there is no problem. As long as advertisers keep paying the CTR for content network ads, then you should be making money with your already existing traffic.

First off, remember you get paid by adsense through advertisers that are "bidding" on KW in your content. The ad industry always is in a slump during the holiday season unless you are selling christmas related stuff. So during the holiday season less advertisers are probably bidding for your KW hence lower payout.
