Would anyone have an idea why starting April 4th my Google traffic dropped by 60% yet when I google all my major traffic driving search terms, I am still "there"?

There was a major Google update. Are you not aware of it?

Yes its too early to say anything sure about your problem as google is updating some of its mechanics so you should wait for sometime then your problem will be solved automatically.

If anything like my site, it goes down for a week every year at this time.
Easter, schools on holiday so kids using computers instead of parents etc, people away on holiday.
Schools went back yesterday here and my traffic went back up :)

Not sure about how you are getting traffic, but are you sure you are updating content regularly?

The traffic from google is almost normal for the past one week for almost all my sites. The sudden decrease in traffic in your case could be due to a part of "google dance" :)

You should investigate to looking for more in your ranking dropped pattern

    1. Is your site ranking drop for certain keywords you are optimizing for? Or all keywords including long tail keywords for your inner pages too?
    2. Is your site ranking come back for a temporaily period after you made some change? ie. Add new content
    3. Is your site ranking dropped to lower than #100?

The site is www.fightauthority.com and my major drivers of traffic are "mma workouts" "mma techniques" "martial arts training"

I am still #1 in these areas, then just gone. I update content all the time. I had my server checked and everything. Maybe it is a Google update....

    The parerank is there: PR3
And you are on a first position for these keywords.

jjfighter, is it still an issue?
If yes, than from your past, what were the main keywords, that brought to you the most of the traffic. May be not these (keywords) that you listed.

It must be because google updated the backlinks algo and the pagerank algo on that day. Most of the sites either lost their backlinks and PR and some of them gained, so your rankings must have changed.

Google has been having a lot of problems lately. I know a site that jumped from PR 0-7 in 2 days upon creation.

I believe PR0 -> PR7 is possible. I have domain with 0 backlinks and 0 traffic and last time content changed was 2 years ago. It has PR4 for last year. Probably some glitches in alg. But who cares about PR, it is just dead. The only real value/rank of the website is the traffic it is receiving, and there is nothing to do with PR.
