    I always forget details too....

When the server crashed, and the move happened, I moved a total of 7 sites from that server to the other. Only one of them, the main source of income ironically, was penalized/filtered. Crawl rates in G WMT dropped big time for that site, but remained the same for the others. The others have also seen organic traffic growth as well.

It all happened today. In fact one site was breaking records as far as rank and traffic till last night.

Its really hard to say if its algo or a penalty or filter. I'd vote for some sort of filter though. When my site dropped, It was a few days after the last toolbar update & the site had just recieved sitelinks in search results. Then boom, sudden drop to pages 4 to 6 in serps (google). It has however caused me to locate other ways of generating traffic.

Day 9 and my positions on Google are still on page 4-6. Do you think it's time that I file a reconsideration request? Is there any concrete way of knowing I was penalized?

You just have to wait. I wouldn't recommend doing anything yet. That happened to one of my older sites recently, and after a week or two, it reappered on page #1, position #1.

    It's just how Google works...

Maybe some bad backlinking from the 'freelancer;' in revenge? Also code might be hacked due to latest vurnelabity.. If it had the famous malware hack you could get deinxed before you noticed. Also chaning CMS and db in 1 day is risky idea.
