Sudden drop in page rank

Yesterday my site was ranked 3/10 - today it's 1/10

Does anyone know why this happens? Have I managed to get myself blacklisted somehow?

I must say there is nothing obvious, it looks as though the site structure is fine.

Have you changed anything in the last 3 months? Have you lost any links? Have you done a mass of link exchanges lately?

    It's usually link related.

Having said all that has it affected your rankings? If not I would not worry too much, I have sites with PR2 that out rank a number of pr4 sites for google volume keywords.

That's weird, probably it's temporary, keep checking.

Usually PR is only updated every few month's so don't get hung up about it

Mine did this a couple months ago. Wasn't even listed until page 3. A week later it was back to number 1. I didn't change anything. I did add more links so I was confused why I dropped. It hasn't dropped since and I've added way more links. My temporary page drop is still a mystery.

Impossible. There was no PR update yesterday and there is no way your site can be affected. since you mention your website URL i take it as you're spamming. Sorry to be mean but get a life.

I experienced the same thing, I saw my tech site dropped its PR from 3 - 0 in a years time, but unlike you I know the reason. Joeh1 is right it's always link related, i lost a lot of back link due to inactivity, from pr3-pr1 then i totally lost my PR status after i transferred to a custom domain. Now I'm starting to build my PR status from scratch again. Hope you recover your PR soon.
    All the best

this is false, penalties can even null the pr while there are no updates going on.. you can find yourself with a grey bar anytime.. i also don't see any reason for you to tell the op "get a life", his question was legitimate.

well google is changing PR at regularly,

I think your site did not have any back link thats why google robbed you with PR.

my PR0 site is not at PR3 www.tikhosting.com and i just done basic link building for it.

I noticed this yesterday as well...I had worked up to a PR 3 over the past year and then when I checked yesterday it said PR2. I checked even later in the day and today and it said PR1 ?? I have no idea what is going on as I have only built legitimate links very slowly but surely.

Google have many data centers. During PR update, you may notice your rank jumping around. Once all the data center get synchronized, you should have a consistent PR rank until next time

    @ sydzapp

I am most certainly not spamming - why would I spam a military resettlement magazine to a bunch of people on a SEO forum? *sigh*

    @ everyone else

I've done a lot of SEO stuff over the past month - I used WebCEO to submit my site to all the free directories - and got one of the staff writers to create a press release and submitted them to a bunch of those press release sites. But it's not like I've done a mass spamming.

actually, pr meant almost nothing. As long as your web traffic and SERP position is constant, you'll be fine.

Well, considering PR is one of the factors google uses to determine SERP position - It doesn't mean almost nothing.

And yes, I've noticed a decline in SERP Position since the page rank drop.
