Sudden 0 weight?

Discussion in 'Co-op Advertising Network' started by hasen, Aug 29, 2009.

I have no idea why but all my weight has suddenly dropped to 0 from 200,000. My sites are still getting lots of traffic, have pages indexed, page rank and the ads are still showing on the sites. There's no reason for the drop and it has never been 0 since I began using the co-op ad network. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

At the moment I'm showing the ads for free across all my sites...

My weight has dropped from over 80,000 to about 10,000 in the last week. I have no idea what is going on, because these weights have been stable for over a year, and I don't expect an answer from DP anytime soon.

Do you use a google api key hasen? Try taking it out? I know google are binning the API at some point...It could be now?

Also on the 29th of August Shawn fixed a problem. Was it on/after this date? Nothing my side has changed massively in the last 5 days...

I checked on the 26th August and all was fine and then on the 30th I noticed the problem so it must be related to that date. I take it yours has not dropped to 0? Do I need to empty the cache files on my sites running the co-op? I see there is mention of that in the thread you pointed me to.

I am using the AJAX APIs but it was my impression Google only killed off the SOAP APIs. Since it coincided with Shawn's change I think it must be to do with that rather than the APIs.

No ignore the cache, that has nothing to do with your score. Take out your api key then validate. What happens then? My weight has actually increased.

If I take it out it goes from 0 to 3 on one. I think its still basically registering 0. Its far more likely to be due to what Shawn has done since it happened exactly the same time as he made the change.

All my sites went zero also. (A lot of sites, I'm not talking well over 80).

Looks like the co-op is over. Shawn never reads this forum and if your report genuine bugs in the Feedback section as a 'bug' Shawn gives an infraction for posting in the incorrect forum.

I'm at zero also. Yesterday half of the sites were zero,
so I tried removing the Google API Key as stated above.
When I checked back today, the other half of the
site's weight dropped to zero. Now all have zero weight.
All of the site validated that ads are running. This
is a legitimate problem. Please look into it as soon
as possible. I'll give it a few days before I panic as
this has never happened before in the many years
I have been using the network. Thanks in advance.

Me too. This is unfortunate. I wonder if anything is going to be done about it. Does anyone have any suggestions for an alternative?

Shawn admitted in another post that the Coop is dead and there is no fixing it.

You have to keep reading down to the next page, but it sounds like BlueDevilMedia is right. It is impossible to know what is going on for sure without any confirmation from DP staff.
