I always heard that new site need some time to gain PR. It has to go through Sandbox. People also told me if you can get a link (in home page) from a PR 7 site, the PR wil climb to PR 4 or 5 in one or two months. Is this true? Any success stories? What techniques/tricks were used? Can we share your experience here?
It's not about PR. Forget about PR. A new site can rank pretty much right away in many niches just by having great content and a few high quality links.
Agree with you. You need quality links to have a better ranking. stop thinking about PR. Better work for improvement of your SERP than bothering yourself having high PR. You rank well in search engine even you have less PR.
And just what do you mean by high quality links? Well -- relevancy might be one of the elements. What other elements do you think a high quality links should have?
If you've got a new site and you get a few links from some established sites you'll start appearing in search results. PR is irrelevant in most cases unless you are trying to sell advertising space and the advertiser requires it.
My web directory has more original content than many other big content based site It has around 40 blogs and lots of quality articles on each of them.
Focus on your rankings which means you also need to focus on your pr. You need a properly optimized page and a high pr if you want to rank well.
I started my site in Jan 06, by the May(ish) update in 2006 the site was a PR-5, but more importantly, traffic jumped from a few hundred uniques from Google per day up to a few thousand.. My secret? A little SEO, which included many good quality, RELEVANT inbound links.
You need to have good content and get back links to your site....Just do more digging and use Netscape network to get good PR
links from high pr web sites will help you to have better pr results and serp but i'm not sure one pr 7 backlinks will help you to have pr 4-5
