Just wanted to get an idea how you'all have been successful with landing pages that adwords like. Are you using templates, review pages, blogs, storefront anything else? I have done storefront and review pages myself and have received good QS in my 15 campaigns, however creating each of these take time so wondering if there are any quick lp's that you are using which are compliant?
Depends on what I'm promoting. Look at the other advertisers in your market and see what they're doing. If you see a bunch of review sites, they are probably working well. Then all you need to do is be inspired (don't copy) by your competitor's landing pages
Using a doorway page is always the best way for Google to give you a high QS. Scott is right. Spying on your competitors is the best way to figure out exactly what method you should use. Remember to use effective keywords. What you should do is grab the top 3 sponsored ads on the Google search network, grab their domain names, and put them in the free google adwords keyword tool and see what words they are bidding on. This will open up your eyes to see what you should use. Then go see what happens when you click their ad. Mimic where you land and what they are selling and you should be successful.
eh? Putting their domain names in the adwords keyword tool doesn't tell you what they're bidding on??
Those are some good suggestion, however there are no affs promoting the products as I have tied up with some independent merchants, so looking at competition will not work for me. What's an example of doorway page?
J Hardy is right..putting the domain name in the adwords tool will spit out keyword suggestions, and not the actual keywords they're bidding on..there are competitive analysis tools out there, though..some free, and some paid. the one i use is Spy Fu..small monthly subscription.
The only way to know what landing page will perform best is through testing. Looking at whatever competitors do can quickly get you into trouble as most people out there throw money around without doing solid tracking, testing, and analysis. Do a simple A/B test with Google website optimizer for a few pages to see what kind of design works with your audience, and then you can build out a bunch of pages and do more detailed testing over time. Best of luck!
Ok, great I'm starting to use wordpress to create blog like pages anyone has experience with this? Will host them on my server.
