Usually blogs won't get much CTR comparing to normal websites and i don't think, there is any industry standard for CTR !!
Most people who intentionally read blogs are computer savvy and are not as likely to click as visitors to a site like, for example, about.com. I would say 1-2% is really good for a blog.
All the above opinions are not correct. These days, there is not much difference between blogs and sites. It all depends on content, blog optimization and adsense optimization. Don't use default blog layout.
The CTR on my blogs is about 3 to 5%. A higher CTR might mean that you're losing possible frequent visitors since they're leaving your blog when they click on an ad.
thats totally bogus , blogs have better conversion rates for affilaite programs and click through rates for adsense than regular web sites ... your visitors tend to trust you more , its more personal ( easier to sell )... Not true , Blogs are exactly like web sites , people don't care if its a blog or web site , as long as they find what they are looking for ... i have 12 blogs and making a pretty descent living ( 5 figures a month ) ... my ctr from adsense is 12 to 13% and i have lots of return visits ... i dont know where you guys get your info from ... There are many bloggers that are making tons of money , even on free hosting companies like blogger , but like everything else .. you have to know what your doing ..
I have a blog that got 8%-10% CTR. It doesn't matter if it's a website or a blog. What matters is your AdSense ad placements, color and images. And great content also gives you higher EPC. Best Regards, Boris
Blogs truly have become so pervasive that it is sometimes difficult to tell from a regular website, it goes the same for CTR , I doubt there is a big difference.
I've found that the CTR on my blog will vary greatly on the content of the post that's being viewed. If I get a lot of traffic for very popular topic about something consumers can buy, usually the adsense ads will be well targeted and generate a high CTR. Topics that don't revolve as much around consumer products seem to generate a lower CTR. Sometimes the amount per click is more, but it really has depended on the topic of the article in my experience. Overall avg is usually around 3%, but sometimes is anywhere from 1% to 5%.
i think blogs and sites are really not superbly much different unless the way you position your blog as a truly personal one. then yea, trust come in play. i think its fair to aim for ctr of about 10% without making it ugly
you are right but i know as a matter of fact that search engines tend to favor blogs because they are updated with fresh content daily ... and through my years of experience i also came to a conclusion that its much easier to get one way incoming links and to get unsandboxed with blogs ... i have several web sites and since i started blogging ill never go back to making web sites again .... im not saying that blogs are better than web sites ... i just find its much easier to make money with blogs in my case ... but everybody is different . having a high ctr is not a bad thing , actually its a good thing ..... remember , people click on links when they find your articles very interesting because they want more .. its when you have lots of visitors and low ctr , thats when its a problem ... that means they are clicking on the back linc in their browsers because your articles do not serve their interest or simply because your adsense ads are very poorly positioned ......
Totally true... In my opinion blogs do much better in the search engines. It is very difficult to put a general CTR for blogs as there are so many ways they can be designed, etc.
