Well I'm thinking about moving from my own WordPress install to blogger.com. Now you can hook a domain name to a blogger blog, so that isn't an issue. I'm just getting sick of upgrading multiple (~10) blogs each time an update comes around - and I do use the automatic upgrade plugin. So I figure by going to blogger I can free up some hosting costs. I will lose the ability to use WP's pages - but links can be made to any post - no difference really. There aren't really any plugins I'm using that I'll miss. Right now I'm only using adsense - so that is even easier on blogger. Has anyone else gone from WordPress to Blogger just to keep maintenance a little bit easier? Were you happy you did?
I agreed on that. With Blogger I'm finding it easy to post, post by email, set up side modules (rss feeds, links, javascript, etc ...) The only thing I find lacking is the ability to set up meta keywords/description. I'm finding the pages indexed in Google all have similar title & meta tags Anyone know a fix on this?
I do have a couple Blogger blogs, but as someone mentioned earlier, I can't have full control over it, so I'm more of a WordPress user. However, regarding success with blogger... definitely, yes! subdomain.blogspot.com will look unprofessional and it might slightly seem like you're not as devoted to your blog (although they have a hosted version), Blogger still works good. If you're in for the long haul tho, I suggest you check out WordPress. Get a Blogger running, but get a free host and setup WP. See how you like it.
