I haven't yet had any success with my astores, either. I've been looking around for any free directories for building links to Amazon Astores (ones that don't require pay or reciprocal links). Are there any of them around?
I would think building some nice backlinks to an aStore would be enough to rank for a handful of terms, but then again I've never messed with them. Traffic is really the key thing though.
Backlinks is great but you can't compete with astore that already choose the niche that you want to target because your astore will become under his/her "More result from astore.amazon.com..." ps: find good keyword
One thing that so many of you are missing about the aStore is that it is simply a framework for a site that you can build out using Iframes. YOu can add whatver content you want to whatever URL you have and keywords you have targeted. You can also include text INSIDE of the Iframe alt attribute and that will be indexed as content on your site. Amazon also includes a back link to whatever URL you choose even though it does have the 'nofollow' attribute it can still count on the smaller search engines. See an example by visiting my astore It is still rough and not completed yet but in the next week or so I should be able to have it all done and working and then begin driving traffic to it.
