Success with 1 page affiliate websites?

I've setup a landing page which I intend to promote with SEO to target 1 keyword. It's really no different to a landing page for a PPC campaign. I'm unsure how it will do in the SERPs because I have always developed bigger sites.

Has anyone had success with 1 page affiliate sites? Did you manage to get the page to rank?

If the competition is low you will be able to rank it, otherwise I would suggest you to build more pages.
I always create a few more pages like about, privacy, faq, sitemap or something like that.
The site looks complete this way. Good the conversion and good for SEO ;)

I read somewhere that the more pages the better and that Google is sceptic about 1 page sites. It makes sense to me.

Sitemap help a bit, it will hardly take 2-3 minutes to create all those pages as u just need to copy/paste content. I personally have couple of affiliates sites (4-5 pages) ranking on first page. Try to update site 2-3 times when its new and during link building process.

C'mon dude let's be realistic. You don't need a sitemap for a 1 page website.

Exactly, but it just take 1 min to set that up, 3-4 pages site do well.

Here is example ,go to google and search for Meladerm , you will notice http://tipstobeauty.com/ on first page, its just 3-4 page affiliate website.

If you want to improve your PPC quality score of your mini-site.
Then you must have privacy, contact us page, Sitemap. (If possible add robots.txt)
To send ping search engines add related feeds to your site at bottom, this will also help to improve your score.

Sure man, it's not much work, but have you tested to see if you could get 1 page site to rank?

Nope, never tested with 1 page site, but has few sites on front page with 4-5 pages. I think it also depend on competition.

Yep competitiveness of keyword is a big factor. Instead of a sitemap (I really think it's a waste of time for a small site) I will add a privacy policy, contact us, about us, and see how that goes.

That only applies when several conditions are met. For Google, the better the better. And the bigger, the more suspicious (unless you have a good launch plan).
