    Hi all,

After reading up on SEO we managed to get our website, diamond films, to page 1 for the keyword "Wedding Video". We was on page 55 a few months ago. These forums were a great help. Thanks :)

It is great to see the efforts of your work pay off and I know we still have to keep on top of the SEO to keep our position but there is one thing I really don't get -

When we were climbing the pages in google we would get cached and our position would stay for weeks. Then move up.

Now we are on page 1 we seem to jump around a lot. Over the course of a day we have noticed we are placed between position 6 and 12 at random. This could be at any time during the day. It's really bugging me. A few hours ago we were pos 6 and now we are pos 8.
Does anyone know the reason for this?

Great news. It shows that hard work can pay off, even for those with little previous experience in the area. You just have to keep plugging away.

This could be due to 1000 different things... For example, Google is constantly indexing pages 24x7x365. The rankings for sites for various keyword phrases are CONSTANTLY changing in real time.

Be thankful you are on page 1. Don't get complacent. Continue to build backlinks from relevant sites with the targetted keyword phrases for the page being linked to and you'll likely continue to enjoy good rankings.

First of all congrats on your top ranking. Now get some more quality backlinks and also update your content. Google loves unique content. You might see some good stable rankings with this.

Thanks for the comments. I know I can't stop there. I am however worried abut changing the page content in case we slide.

Looking at the title, I thought the green toolbar had bestowed its blessings on your site. SERP increase and Page Rank are two different terms btw.

As Canonical said, continue to build links, and you should see an increase in your SERPS.

I find google is very hard to understand sometimes. If you keep working on the seo, you should obviously see your average rankings move up.
