Submitting your site to multiple web directories

    Sorry for the multiple questions:

I've heard several comments that one of the safer ways to promote pages is through web directories and some people here have compiled huge lists of free directory sites.

My question is, does google frown on companies that submitting their links to 100+ directories? I understand they don't like too many new links at one time, but how many is too many?

And, so many of these directories ask for a link exchange though it's not required. Does it really make a difference if a link exchange is provided?

Lastly, many free directories have little or no Google pr ranking. Is it worth it to submit to these sites?

    Thanks!

    1. Just submit your links to directories that have higher alexa/PR ranks than yours. Just makes it easier.

    2. Link exchanges are important and most of the time if you link exchange with someone and then remove their site, they will remove yours.

    3. Not really, they provide back links but not quality ones.

When it comes to submitting links to directories, try following the manual process and add the links just one by one and select a handpicked group of directory sites.

Directory submission is still the key for good ranking. Directory must be industry related. It shouldn't be like a domain with free directory script installed. Look at the marketing effort made by the directory.

No it doesn't worth it, this is the answer.
Before to start submitting it, try to have a litlle research on the directories you are about to submit to, if they have at least PR0 your link will count it.

    Good luck

As techmaster said - it is still important for gaining some valuable links to the site.

What I meant was an honest effort should have made for the directory.

To be honest, I used to believe that better to submit to high quality directories only. But looking around, I see many sites ranking with mostly garbage links from low quality directories too.

So it's not a straight forward answer :p

it is importent to submit to relative directories
    not just have kinks
Web page optimization and link building are more important than search
engine submission. However, search engine submission still helps you to
inform search engines and Internet directories about your website.
