How often should I submit my site to search engines, or should I not resubmit at all?

If you have links to your site from relevant resources, the search engines will find and index you, re-submitting won't be helpful. If you don't have links to your site it won't matter whether they know about you or not because you'll be off the map as far as search results are concerned anyway.

It is not useful to submit your site to search engines. Just add the site link here in signatures or submit one story to social bookmarking sites like digg so that they can get indexed much faster.

You should not submitted your site into search engines if you have optimized your site properly. If you site has unique and fresh content and have also quality backlinks you do not need to submit your site into search engines.

If after so many days your site has not cached snapshot available than only you should submit your site into search engines only once.

If your site is pingable then I'd suggest pinging it through PingOMatic that's the fastest way to get indexed. Otherwise, get your link on other sources which are crawled, such as Digg, Craigslist, Wikipedia, etc. -- pick your flavor.

    Good luck!

I don't see a need to submit to search engines in the first place. If you have got 'food for spiders" that is fresh content they will come hunting for your. All you gotta do is show them the way and that would be via inbound links.

You don't have to submit to search engines everytime you make a blog post. Adding a sitemap to webmasters tools should be enough and maybe to make things faster, just submit to digg or do some dofollow blog commenting on high traffic blogs.

Once you've sumbitted to Google webmaster tools and built some good backlinks there really is no point in submitting to the search engines IMO.

I haven't submitted a site to search engines for over 6 or 7 years. As others have said just ink to it from another site which is indexed and you're set.

You can submit your site to search engines once but there are other ways to get indexed faster like social bookmarking or pinging.

Well actually, I believe you don't even need to submit your site to SEs. It will be better if SEs find your site naturally.

I have submitted my site to google , and after that was just concentrating on getting the backlinks, and that is all you need.
I mean the search engine bots are crawling other sites and find your link , besides the only search engines you need are probably google , yahoo and MSN maybe yandex.ru too , as its very popular and very strong russian search engine , i receive some hits from it unlike from yahoo ;) ... doubt anyone uses other nowadays

You should never submit to any search engine. It's something form the past.
If you site is any good then search engines will find you pretty fast.

Build a few backlinks and you will be indexed by all the major SEs (Google, Yahoo, Live). That's all you need.

I don't think you need to resubmit. There are services out there which claim that they will resubmit say every month. Don't waste your hard earned money on these services.

if you have already submitted your site in search engines, don't resubmit it, It is not useful to submit your site to search engines again and again, do link building regularly..

    Thanks
