Submitting to PR0?

Discussion in 'Directories' started by tentwenty, Mar 4, 2009.

I know you guys may have seen this before but does submitting to PR0 directories harm my website in anyway?

IMO Submiting to PR0 wont make much difference because the PR may change.

Can someone clear this up for me please

Actually I've got PR1 on my site for submitting that site to bunch of PR0 directories so I don't believe it can harm in any way...

it will not hurt at all, it wil help..keep in mind that most directories will only be pr0 until the next update

Every site in it infant stage is PR 0
Submit and wait, those will get good PR and helps you share the link juice.
Also, make sure that the site is cached recently or showing a false PR

It can't really hurt you to submit to PR0 directories, but why not spend more of your time submitting to directories with higher PageRank? There are plenty of lists out there . . .

Its impossible for a PR0 to harm you, ive been submitting to directories today, various PR including PR0.

Get in while they are PR0 and giving away plenty of free links, or dont and wait till they go paid then, well... you probably understand what im saying :)

i think there is no difference. important is how much backlinks you have and not how big is pr on directories, where you submitted your site

    Thats what I was thinking.

Tomorrow all the PR6 ones could drop to PR0 and PR0 could sky rocket to PR6

No worries, PR0 is not a reason for a problem.

If you see a 1-2 years old directory with PR0, you may want to skip it but new directories with PR N/A or PR 0 are fine and I take the gamble of submitting to them. Half of them get PR1/2 after an update.

I think it is a great idea to submit to PR0 Directories.

    • First, they will accept you fast - because they are most likely new
    • Second, they are probably free
    • Third, their PR will most likely increase with time - meanwhile you are already in them

    Pagerank here today, gone tomorrow!
Submit to directories for traffic, little boost in SERPS and global recognition and that's it!

Here is my rule of thumb for picking good directories to place your links:

    1) Not too deeply layered.....Sub-category should only be two (or fewer) clicks from Home Index.

    2) Results are sorted by Page Rank

    3) Pick a RELEVANT category or sub-category to list in. (bonus points for matching Key Words to your site)

In every FREE directory that I picked under the above criteria........one year later, these PR 0's all became PR 2 or PR 3..... one is now PR 4....

For example, I choose "Weddings" as my category. (Home ---> Shopping ---> Weddings).
Its only 2 clicks from Home, its a matching Key Word.

Because my site is PR 4 --- I get listed on Page One of my category. (this is good because the first page of a category has the most link value)

Thank you for the insight - I was actually in two minds about pr 0 directory submission and did not use such resources, but what you have said does make sense. I probably need to reconsider... What about PR n/a?
