Submitting to PR 6 web directory is really worth it?

I submitted to a few pr6 web directories, but now i checked my backlinks and i realise that i just submitted to pr3 pages cause there inner pages were not pr6, so my question is why submit to pr6 directories instead buy a home page link on pr3-4 website??

Many people fail to realize that more imprtant than the individual page you submit on is the authority status of the directory. Authority directories give a vote of confidence to the search engines. This is why a pr3 link can give you much more benefit than a pr5 link towards ranking for your terms. Serps are far more imprtant than PR. Also as Velocity said, permanent PR3 listings give a much better value over monthly PR6 listings as long as you trust the directory to stick around.

Totaly agree - When you see a site with high PR it means that Google appreciate this site, and will take into its account what the site 'has to say'.
It doesn't really matter the inner PR. Many people will say that the main page PR doesn't matter either. I has some PR5-6 websites with no traffic at all, and I have a PR3 that Googles just loves and send a lot of traffic into it.

The other parameter is links to the website (SERPS) - it is important but you can't get the real number, so it is not accurate.

My advice for you before you submit a site to a directory do this check:
Browse the directory and pick up 2-3 links. Then search in Google for the keywords they use. If the directory appears in the top 20 for those keywords, the directory is worth to submit for. But don't pick competitive keywords like 'web directory'...

Its will atleast give you some PR juice and if its a permanent link then some more benefit.

Plus it cheaper in the long run... ;)

PR3 homepage links will not cost you that cheap..

Directory links are mostly permanent.. Like $20/link and you may get listed on PR3 or PR4 page..

While usual homepage PR3 links will cost $3-5/month :)

If you want to get listed on high PR pages, browse the directory, look at PR of relevant categories and then submit...
But featured links if you want to get listed on top high PR categories.

A pr 6 directory gains all the pr for a reason... its strong and has good backlinks and has good strength to pass the PR juice.... believe me one of my listings in a Pr 6 directory ranks #1 for my best keyword... and my dir follows #2... lolz!

I don't think the PR of the inner page you are listed on in all that important. However I notice that on the some of the supposed 'strongest' directories, some of the inner pages aren't even indexed. (even though they are older directories). A listing there won't help you much, unless that situation changes.

As far as PR is concerned a link is a link, so what does it matter? Just get more links ;)

well, the situation will usually change at the next PR-update if content is added to the non-indexed pages. I have 2 PR6 directories and I'm constantly adding new subcategories whenever I notice a lack. So these newly added pages will of course not be indexed. But once the next PR-update comes, these new pages will usually get at least a PR3. So it will help getting listed there, perhaps not immediately, but usually in the near future.....
