IM submitting my site to google on a monthly basis! What’s the opinion? Is this over kill, does it hurt or does it help?
It's pointless. Get some links to your website from other pages on the web. This will be much more helpful then submitting to google. They will find you if you are connected to the web.
(copy paste from) GOOGLE INFORMATION FOR WEBMASTERS We add thousands of new sites to our index each time we crawl the Web, but if you like, you may submit your URL as well. Submission is not necessary and does not guarantee inclusion in our index. Given the large number of sites submitting URLs, it's likely your pages will be found in an automatic crawl before they make it into our index through the URL submission form. We DO NOT add all submitted URLs to our index, and cannot predict when or if they will appear. Please visit our "Add URL" page to input your URLs. You can submit your site as often as you like, but multiple submissions will not improve the likelihood of your site being added or accelerate the process. We do not penalize sites for 'over-submitting'. If you choose to submit your site, only the top-level domain is necessary, as the spiders will follow your internal links to all the rest of the pages. The best way to ensure Google finds your site is for your page to be linked from lots of pages on other sites. Google's robots jump from page to page on the Web via hyperlinks, so the more sites that link to you, the more likely it is that we'll find you quickly. Cricket
pointless. Google crawls 24/7 and will find you through links. G already has over 30 of your pages listed http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=site:www.whitedovecleaning.biz&btnG=Google+Search
Thanks , Some wear i picked up the idea to submit once a month but after some research it did seem overkill
Probably from the companies that scam money out of people telling them they need to submit to search engines at all.
They already have pointed you in the right area. Read the first two replies.... Get links.. get ranked. Links are usually not enough to get optimally ranked, but the basics are there. Get links, get ranked. I havent submitted a website to Google at all for years.
My new site basic procudure: 1. Put up holding page (+ research keywords: http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/) 2. Submit to SEs (once) 3. Put link to the site on a site that gets visited regularly. 4. Put up content. 5. Leave for a while. 6. Check to see if sites are listed. 7. Get the most relevant links (industry first) 8. Submit to dirs. 9. Increase content 10. Add a blog, directory and other features. 11. Get lots of links to your site with the right words in it (changing them very regularly) 12. Add important keywords to the keyword tracker (available here: http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/keywords/) Something along those lines should do the job to help you well on the way. You will have a listed site that starts to rank
instead of submiting it monthly get few good back links of pr 4 or above and google will index ur site
Better off doing site:www.domain http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=site:www.whitedovecleaning.biz&btnG=Google+Search shows 34 results. But imo links are important but for most other SE's I'd keep submitting since most of the smaller SE's don't crawl.
Submitting more than once is irrelevant and does no harm nor it is of any benefit. It doesn't harm as if it did anyone could submit the competitors' pages to harm them. It's of little benefit as the page is going to be found anyway sooner or later, sooner if linked by a page that SEs like to visit (regularly updated, high PR, many BLs, etc), later if not. The only reasons I can think of for such an option to be in place are: 1) Keep quiet anxious wms and seos. 2) Non linked pages (very very rare I would think and even then only temporarily as such) 3) Just in case the bots miss that page (never heard of that happening in the long term
Simply put, submitting to SEs is a waste of time. Get a few good links from sites that are being crawled and you will be found by the SEs. Submit to GreenStalk.
