Hi, I plan to submitt all of my websites to over 1000 website directorys, I was woundering the best way to find the top 1000 directorys, also is there a eassy way to submit? Is there a program like robo form, for filling website discription forms? Submitting to directorys is a very time consuming pain in the ass, any help would greatly be appreciated.
There are services and offers out there for manual directory submissions. You can find some here at DP. But they do cost you $xx.
IMO directory submissions should be done manually, since you wont be required to do them again and again (better do them right the first time ) With an automated program, you might end up getting around 800+ links from directories in a month, all targetting the same KWs and text in the anchor text. This might lead to a red flag by Google. Also, by manually submitting them, you can ensure that you follow the directory policies strictly and see that you site is added to the required category / sub-category, and also check if it hasnt been added there already. Btw, do you plan to submit to free directories only or paid also?

Thanks for the help guys! Ill mostly be submitting to free directorys, but if i see a paid website, and i think it will be very helpful if my website was listed, and it was cheap, I would pay.
You can probably muster up about 500 to 600 free directories but to do that you will be scraping the bottom of the barrel at times... just food for thought. If you are going to pay for a listing then it changes the ball game and you should really make sure you get what you pay for (good PR, indexed pages, etc.). RoboForm is deffinately the way to go
Submitting by hand is the way to go, as the most high traffic/pr directories don't allow automated submissions.

Why would you want to waste you time submitting to 1000 directories when over 900 of them at best have few cached pages and will offer no link value in return for your submission time. Be a smart directory submitter and submit to directories that at least have the topic you will be submitted to cached regularly. Save yourself time and the aggravation by being an informed and intelligent webmaster.
A few months ago someone posted a list of hundreds of free directories but I can’t find that thread. Does anyone recall that thread?
Obviously I'm a little biased, but it's possible to use an automatic submitter effectively, it just requires a little patience and common sense. Even with an automated tool, you probably should still stagger your submissions so you don't pick up hundreds of links at once. It's a lot easier to just set a program to submit to the first 100 of the list one day, then the next 100 a few days later, etc. than to spend hours doing it manually. Automatic submission doesn't have to be all or nothing unless you want it to.
Don't waste to much time on Submitting to directories, I would says just submite to 6 to 8 directories per-day. Don't go spend 4 hours per-day to submiting to directories. Try to spend 20 to 30 minutes perday.
