Submitting to Directories worth it?

As there are so many directories around
So is submitting your websites to all possible working Directories even worth your time?

How will it help?

 

Its great and proven for indexing your site on the SE's to mention one point only

 

To be effective, you should submit to as many quality web directories as possible.

 

Hi ... don't know about "proven," but directory submission works, well. Doubled site PR to 4, and got ranking for several inside pages (PR3s, PR2s), plus a noticeable edging up of uniques and repeats for about 30 site pages. Yes, only the latter means anything, but the PR is an indicator of attention, when supported by the uniques. Only nasty, is site Alexa tumbled into the abyss, about the same time; not that it means anything. Bottom line: submit, submit, submit and have the best possible site and product for those who visit. Yes true, Submission to many quality directories will help u a lot & I agree with British Guy.

 

Quality directory works. If you can't get one, sitewide link (even though not many experts will agree) from other lower quality directories can also help your SERP (and PR as well).

 

I get about 200 uniques a day from directories (although I have submitted to a lot of directories), plus it helps my SERP and PR as far as I know.

 

Yes there are lots of Free Directories you can use
to promote your site, though it will cost you your
time but you can be sure that the result are accurate
and effective with lesser financial cost.

 

it's worth if you can make money from the site.

 

I joined not too long back. One reason was to get help on various projects that i have running. The other reason was to find some quality Directories to submit to. Over the last month this is all i have done and already i can see a big improvement in traffic. Alexa ranking has also improved greatly.

Paid review directories are a great way to get quality backlinks.

 

if they wasnt paid directories everyone will go and submit every site he have mfa bans afilliate only sites link farms.....so better pay a low fee for a quality link than pay nothing and just wasting your time at a big number of free directories!there are some quality free dirs but you have to find them.

 

I have grabbed a 18,000 directory list into a file. The file size in .txt document is 1.18 MB. I have to remove paid directories, duplicates, non working etc.. It is a tedious job and I think I can make a 14,000 working directories from this list.... After that I will submit my sites to these sites. It will take some 1-2 month to cover 14,000 directories. But in the future, I am sure it will help to get good page rank and traffic from these directories.....
