Is it pointless to submit a landing page to directories? Or should you only do this if you have a blog.
Some say that it is worth it, while some, including myself, say it is not. When in doubt, do it anyway. You have nothing to lose but a little bit of time.
From an advertising angle where you will make money, yes. But experiment by trying it for a couple of months, if that, cheece2001. Look at other products/services out there. Do keyword searches. Are they on page one or two of a search due to commenting in blogs, and submitting to directories? There's your answer. Experiment with it, for peace of mind.
Landing pages are generally a place where you redirect other traffic to. It's pretty tough to get much organic traffic to go directly to your landing page....so marketing it in the ways you've mentioned is usually more trouble than its worth.
I think it is perfectly fine to submit to link directories. I sure do it. That's not to say you'll get a huge boost, but it does give your site a lot of weight. I find it makes your site stronger, in the way that you can't be pushed out of a position. That means if you capture a good position for a keyword, you're not going to have someone push you out unless they have a lot of authority.
