Yes its worth it. This is mainly for building PR too.. you gain a lot of backlinks each time people use your article. It'll increase your traffic though this depends on the quality of your article (higher quality means more people will use and read your article and see/click on your website url)

Yes, it is a good thing to do. However make sure that you are not submitting the exact same article to all the different directories. Change it somewhat and try to have 5-10 variations to make it look unique. Good Luck! Ivan

Submitting articles is mainly for the benefit of PR rather than traffic.. In my experience, the best traffic for adsense performance is from search engine.
see, you won't get proper result to submit a single article on those directory.. You have to submit daily atleast 2 or 3 artilces (unique and quality content), on those directory. thanks w.s

You can submit your article to every article directory you can possibly find for backlinks, which will in turn increase your search engine rankings for keywords and bring in more traffic. However, very few of those article directories will bring you traffic directly, except the major ones like ezinearticle.com
Yes you can submit same articles to different articcle sites but not same articles to same article directories.
