I have a local website, and local residents are writing articles on a variety of topics for it. I have their permission to repost these articles to any other website, and would like to figure out if I should utilize this to pump up my seo efforts. Not all of these articles are directly related to my main website content (for instance, I have some articles on nursing homes and contrails that I'm adding to my site tomorrow). Will they still benefit me if posted to article directories? How should I configure the anchor text? Should I just use my keywords as the anchor text and place it in the author's bio area? Some seo background: the site is a couple of months old and I've been working on getting backlinks from pr3+ directories. I'm trying to rank in the Google top 3 for the keywords Durango Colorado.
hmm posting articles from your site to article directories might cause duplicate content.... better submit some articles that you don't intend to publish on your site...
Rewrite your article then run it through copyscape.com, if it passes that its fine for duplicate content filters.
Just be sure to give acreditation to the original with a link to it. That's the official Google line; Matt Cutts;
If you have many articles then you may publish 2 or three on the website and may submit other articles to directories such as ezine and that is how you may increase the site ranking. But make sure that you publish articles that is Keyword rich thus helping you to rank for keywords.
