Submitting affiliate site to dir.yahoo

    Hi,

I'm thinking about submitting my affiliate site to dir.yahoo via paid submission (it belongs to economy & business category) to boost my PR. What is they practice on excepting aff sites in? My website has informational character plus affiliate links to 4 different merchants and adsense ads.
It has visible contact info - address and phone (I have read this is important), but it's address is in Europe and the website is targeted to US audience.
Have you submitted aff sites to dir.yahoo before?
Will it have positive impact on my PR (current=0)? PR of category I'm planning to submit in is 4.

Forget yahoo dir. They don't let you choose your anchor text, and they charge $200 just for submiting with no guarantee you will be accepted.

You can even use the money to make Themes with your designer link and release them in forums and blogs so that you get many backlinks. And it may also be used on some High PR blog so its a better option. :)

You do stand a chance albeit a minimum one due to having affiliates and Google Ads on it. Yahoo tend more so accept sites into their directory if they are mainly selling their own products.

There is however, no harm in trying!

Good luck and let us know if you are successful.

Google as with many directories wants original material. Chances are slim of being accepted but chances are high of loosing your money, they do not refund.
