Submitting a website to google?

Discussion in 'Google' started by IncomeMarketingPro, Sep 1, 2010.

I just started hand submitting my website to mutilpe search engines, and I have a question about submitting to google. I heard 2 different time frames when submitting your website to google, one source I read said you should submit your site to google every 30 days, another source said you shouldn't submit your site to google only after every 45 days, because google can ban your site?!?! Just curious if this is true or not. Now I guess my next question is how many times a month should you submit your site to google and other search engines as well?

Many Thanks for the help :)

I'm not sure about the number of days but I think submitting your site to google once is enough.

    Hi,

I would like to mention that it is not necessary to submit new sites to search engines these days. Search engines would pick up your new sites and new pages via the inbound links to your sites. Of course, a well-done sitemap submission might be helpful for increasing link popularity and deep indexing purpose.

    all the best,

From my experience, I do not submit my sites to Google, as it will automatically pick up my sites. What you need to do is, find one of the page which is already indexed in google and add your link on it. For example, this thread might be included in google. you simply need to link your site in this thread.

Submitting your site on a search engine like Google really not a big help for your site. Although there are some who perform that kind of campaign, some of them are in the sandbox zone, some of them were banned. Just like this one commenter who replied that it automatically index it by Google and if you want to be index by Google, easy thing to do is to submit it to Social Bookmarking sites (the popular ones).

I think do not submit your website.. If you have bookmarked your website then within few days your website will get indexed..

Actually search engines have been very smart now a days, they have their own softwares, bots and spiders to crawl a website. If any new site launches in the market, it is automatically crawled by the search engines. But submitting your site is a good practice to make aware soon the search engines to crawl to your site.

We know that always over submission causes a penalty on our site and it may be banned from the search engine. Submitting the xml sitemap path or text site map path considered a good way for submission besides submitting all the pages in the search engines. Once your site is submitted in the search engines and your pages are indexed then in my opinion there is no need to resubmit again your site in the search engine after a specific time interval, coz as the changes occurred on your pages, it is automatically crawled by the search engines.

Actually, I did not know that sites need to be submitted multiple times. I usually have this service within my hosting package; I submit the website once and end of story...

It needs some time. You can't expect it to appear within a day or two.

It is much quicker to NOT submit your site to Google, and instead build links to your site.
