Thanks in advance, Where do I find a list of directories that would accept submissions of a non-profit, non-commercial website for FREE? Thanks/regards
I am sure many directory owners would accept it here, If and only if your claim is genuine & its a quality site. Post your site url....
I am not sure if I am allowed but since you have asked... here you go: http://www.officialsitebuilder.com/ This is the site I am volunteering for.
Firstly its a services/online tools based website. It would be free, but I would term it commercial. Obviously the tools will require a link back to your site and will run from your server, you aren't distributing its source code or free tools. Second site appears to be incomplete in many ways, thus another reason why directory owners may not accept it. I would suggest you to submit your site to freely available directories or free directories list and visit announcement section of this forums, lot of directories are launched daily submit to them. I am afraid a Paid directory owner may not approve it.
Every general directory should approve that type of website. You can take a look at this forum (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=65). You can also check out my list of about 100 General, free, high PR directories (http://www.mqsource.com)
I haven't reviewed it totally but it seems it allows a free use or free source. So it does not actually fall into a commercial site.
ok I signed up just to see what its about what you do is build a site using their templates (as far as I can see) then uploading it to your own site so everything is free except for what you pay your host so it would be a good site for a beginner
Well I am not sure why you say that is commercial. The owner has a friend that is in retail (she owns a store and has little time to learn HTML and little money to outsource the job) and wanted to help her to build her biz website so he built this thing. Then, why not making it available for all? You know humm, I agree with you that there is no such a thing as free lunch but I assure you there are people out there that don't give a flying f. about the money (for different reasons). For example, we gathered a few engineers from UBC (University of British Columbia) and we are about to create a design for a solar powered electric car. It will be open design, no patent, no copyright, anyone will be able to use the drawings and build the car. The community will also be able to contribute because we are sick and tired to wait for manufacturers to make it available. So we are going to do it ourselves. And again I can assure you we have no monetary goals in mind. To summarize: The site is free and always will be There no ads (no adsense or other) There is no upsell to other products and services ...and oh yes, there is no support but if there are volunteers then they can contribute to the forum Hope this clarify many things...if not then I am going to have to live with it
Ooops I have used the contact us form because your submit form is asking me to go through the payment option. Hope is OK
just to let you know even using the submit form your link will go thru even when you don't pay its just up to the webmaster on weather or not to except it and you are added to 3 of my sites now
I am sure it's worthy of a free submission and a credit for building the site., you mission statement strikes a little funny, when you also write as above, as many people you have asked to list your site for free are the ones who have spent thousands upon thousands building and promoting them, worth a thought a least
