Submitting a new site

    Hi,

I have read that Adsense only accepts sites that are older than 6 months as well they cannot be under construction. I have read the program policies, but I couldn't find these restrictions stated. Is this true? If so, does the 6 months of age refer to when the domain was created, or when the actual site was launched? For instance, let's say I bought the domain in October and only launch the site today, does this count as being 6 months old?

I'm starting a new site soon, but after many complications I've decided to launch the forums first. The forums will most likely be located at folder /forums while the main page might have a message saying the main site will open soon and for now there will be a link to the forums. My guess is they might reject this site as under construction? What if, instead I place a 301 redirect from mydomain.com to mydomain.com/forums. Would this be counted as a site under construction and would they accept it?

My last question is regarding the privacy policy. You need to add a little bit to your privacy policy about DART right? Are you supposed to do this only after your accepted, or do it before you apply your site?

    Thanks!

I think this is the info you are looking for:

I don't know if the redirect would be allowed or not. Why not put up some text on your home page so that it's not under construction when you apply.

And the privacy policy isn't required until you actually put ads on your site.

Thanks Nonny for taking the time to answer my questions. The links were also helpful, they helped answer most of my other questions.

From further browsing of those links I found this:
I already have an Adsense account that I used a couple years ago, but the site was disabled from serving ads. Since then I haven't used Adsense again, but my actual account is still active. If my account was already approved years ago, does that mean even if my site is one day old and doesn't have any pageviews I could start putting Adsense ads on it?

If your account is still active, you can place your ads on any site - but it's a good idea to make sure it complies with the Adsense program policies. That means it should have content on it, for example.

Yep, it will comply with the program policies. In terms of content, considering a new forum, what would be a good indication of having enough content? At least how many topics, or how many posts? 10, 100, etc.?

I don't know any exact number - I'd say no empty categories, at the minimum.
