Submitters prefer monthly or yearly Featured links?

Do submitters prefer purchasing their featured links monthly or yearly?
And do they like automatic renewal of their featured links or do they prefer to take care of renewal themselves.

Im just trying to get a feel for what should be in place on my directory too.

Or is it the done thing that featured links are yearly anyway?

Monthly ?? ... No way, not for me.
Yearly ... I think most of the site are offering Featured as Yearly payment option. So, you are good to go with it.

Permanent would be the best :)

    Hope that helps :)

Mine is set for yearly. I think submitters would definitely prefer permanent, but the directory owners need to pay for recurring server costs somehow. :)

It all depends on how good your directory is. Webmasters will pay for monthly links if you can send them quality traffic. But if all you can give is 'PR', then webmasters will prefer to go with longer term or one time payments.

As a directory owner you should prefer subscriptions but ideally also provide manual renewal option also.

Links for PR, I prefer permanent.

Links for traffic, I take into consideration how much traffic my site will receive.

Monthly subscriptions can be a hassle if you have several thousand links to manage.

Yearly is probably the best for directory owners since you can get re-ocurring income. I'm sure site listing owners perfer permanent. Setting to yearly without subscription though may not be ideal since listing owners may forget or be lazy to renew. Subscriptions from paypal allow them to cancel anytime anyway, you just need to emphasize that so they feel ok with yearly subscriptions.

I prefer --Yearly as an owner and permanent as a submitter:p As a owner I owlud like more leverage with the change of strength my directory would go through during this time. But as a submitter --one is always looking for more.:D

Add about 150% on the price for a permanent like if you want it $1 yearly make it $2.50 permanent. ;)

My preference for annual links is a subscription option to lock in current pricing.

With Dirsensei I would like to go for an annual listing with the same price but waiting for something first to happen then I decide. :)

So for now its permanent. :)

CReed, i can see why you would want something like that in place at directories, are many directories offering this?

This may seem like an odd question, but if for some crazy reason, a customer doesn't wish to renew their featured link after a year (if yearly featured is in place) do you as directory owners just relist it as a regular listing if they haven't informed you otherwise?
