Submitted to Article directories...what next?

I've submitted several articles to dozens of article directories manually (ezine, rhino, etc...) over the past 6 months. I've tried everything else and article marketing DOES work but not well enough....I'm up to about 30 uniques a day but where do i go from here? My site is www.officialgovernmentgrants.com so social networking sites don't really work. I've tried forum posts and blog posts but traffic barely budges.

How can I get up to 100 uniques a day? The worst part is - my content is actually unique...i actually have gotten a grant and make good money on government auctions (both subjects of the site) yet I'm not getting the traffic...maybe the site could be better laid out?

    Anyt thoughts?!

Perhaps link exchange? Try contacting Will.Spencer, he's got a few political sites that do really well. Your niche is very direct and so getting the right traffic maybe difficut. But excellent work on it :D

Try blogging. You would be surprised at how much traffic you can get with that. Don't discount social networking sites. Join a big one like facebook and do a search for political groups or grant groups on there. Join the groups and start networking.

What about ads in grant related ezines?

First, continue to submit articles. Never consider this job finished. Also consider traffic exchanges for raising visibility.

Submit also your site to directories and not only in article. The more backlinks you got, the better serp ranking you have in your site. And once you have good ranking, visitors now start to come in your site.

Well maybe you have a unique content but it is not targeted towards the right keyword. Do a research and aim for the keyword that generates the highest amount of traffic per month. Or sometimes the keyword that you select is too competitive so you have to aim for long tail.

Lycos - you raise a good point about aiming for the right keywords - what resources are available to research that?

Article postings is one good traffic generation technique, but you ought to be looking at others too. Here's a couple of ideas to generate some more traffic & sales:

    1. You have a lot of unique content I understand - why not create a CD of tips and offer this on eBay.

    2. Consider compiling some of your articles into a free, viral ebook with your URL links in it. Give it away to as many places as possible, as it starts swirling around the net you'll start getting visitors to your site.

    3. Govt grants/auctions a classic "make money from home" theme. There are thousands upon thousands of websites out there with a similar theme. Consider doing a JV with some of them.

That's just 3 simple techniques, there are lots more. Marketing is the lifeblood of any internet business, as important as the product itself so learn how to do it right and you'll always succeed. I have PMd you, hope it helps.

A page rating wouldn't come up on your site. Put your site link in your signature here at this forum and others you blog. Start 3 different free blog sites and direct them to your main site and also put their links in your signature here and post your articles to your blogs also. Make each blog different based around the same key words this will give you more options for hits through the bloggs to your site.

Blog allot blog about anything related to your site. It seems like you have knowledge about the subject and its that unique content that will get picked up by the search engines.

Also what kinds of advertising have you done? A little advertising never hurt anyone. Pack a lunch for a week and run a few ezine solo ads with your savings

Dude, change your title tag IMMEDIATELY! It contains word "grants" five times. You are labeled "a keyword spammer" in all search engines. You can continue submitting articles as much as you want. For as long as search engines keep throwing you to the supplemental results, you will not see any major boost in traffic. You can tell from previous posts how many "SEO Experts" there are on DP. If you want to get traffic, talk to those who do get traffic, not to wannabies.
