I've checked out the adult section at DMOZ and trust me, that is NOT true... all the sites I've seen have been around for YEARS at best. Granted, it could be regurgitated content on new sites... but I've not seen any new teens and most of the teens I have seen are older them I am
I listed my website at DMOZ about 3 weeks ago, and of course I haven't heard anything back yet. After reading this thread, it sounds as if getting listed is about as likely as hitting the lottery.
As your question seems to be getting lost amid useless jibes, I'll take a quick shot at giving you a real answer. The short answer is "no". Theme isnt the factor that slows down acceptance, the speed problem is a function of their free business model. See the sticky at the top of the forum for details. The only place that I saw "theme" play a huge factor when I was there was with real estate sites. Agents using templated plug-in-your-data sites like Z-57 and Advanced Access had a much higher rate of refusal on grounds of failure to provide unique data. I argued against that practice, but I just edited there, I didnt own the place. There have since been similar templates created for other industries, and I'd imagine unless they are highly personalized I suspect they'll have a lower acceptance ratio than the norm. Outside of that, again see the info in the pinned thread. It's a decent link, it isnt a sure thing by any stretch, but worth investing a few minutes making a submission. Good luck.
