Submiting to Yahoo directory

I am thinking about submitting my magazine subscription e-store site to Yahoo Directory (the $300 option).

I was wondering what experiences everyone has had with Yahoo Directory, especially magazine subscription sites. Such web sites has a lot of competition but I heard good things.

    Do they provide targeted/heavy traffic?

    Thanks.

why don't you try the free option, you will get in about 2-3 months time. but then if you want a quick entry, then the paid option is pretty fine.

i entered and got accpeted for free. i have not got any traffic from it. but then my page rank got a bit improved. though i won't suggest you to pay, but then it is your choise!!:)

Judging from that there is no point to pay the hefty $300 when it is not $300 worth of traffic.

I could probably just submit it to other sites within 3 months time and get a better return in that case.

I'd say mainly for pagerank and serp as mentioned. I"m in the yahoo directory andI have nothing showing for it in my stats only "Yahoo" which is just a tiny fraction of all the search engine traffic I receive a month. I'd say neglible. Similarily I get ~7 uniques a month from dmoz. Both as mentioned have their biggest function in pagerank and serp also it just gives your site credibility.

I see, the $300 doesn't seem worth it to me now. Press releases must do a similar job with less money.

What do you expect from that submission, that's the case.
If you have a website which'd return you that money with the increase of PR and SERP, then you should, if not, stick with the free option and pray :p

It's a risky $300 to spend since all you are paying for is a guaranteed review, not necessarily a listing! But if you can't wait and you have the cash to burn, and you think your site will likely be accepted, go for it.

I wouldn't spend that much to submit my site to a directory.
