Should i be constantly be submiting to directories for traffic? I don't know how to get traffic with directories? Do i just submit to hi pr ones? Should i only submit to dmoz and thats it? Where can i find tons of directories?
There's a forum on this site specifically for announcing directories owned by other members right here. And yes you should be submitting to them. Don't expect traffic, they give you backlinks which help you rank. If you get lucky and get into DMOZ then you'll see a bit of traffic, but that's not the point.
I know that many debate this point, but it has worked well for me in the past, I saw results, they were not immediate, but they were links to valid directories and I think it all helped.
You just dont expect any traffic from directories, they are only for backlinks Getting in Dmoz is very tough so you should focus on other sites as well. Why not you try the services section.you can get many reliable people there to do this work for you
so let me get this straight... u only submit to directories to get back links.. right? even though u might be getting zero trafic from them. So with the increase of backlinks this will increase your ranking in google right?... witch will then get you traffic. right??
It depends on the directory. Some of the links submitted in my directory receive some traffic but for the most part they just get some quality back links.
directory submission lately is not where its at, good for filler links but the social networking scene are the best types of links to get today
Directory submissions is only for getting backlinks and if the site is new it helps the sites to crawl faster. It is only a chance when you drive some traffic from it. Dont run after Dmoz there are lot more.
Don't underestimate the value of submitting to paid directories. One link from a directory with a PR6 may be worth more than several from directories with a PR value of 2 or 3. Running a simple google search for paid directories and weighing PR value vs. price will bring the most "bang for your buck". There are literally thousands of "free" directories that simply won't include your submission unless your site has any PR value and you pass it to them with a link. Many others are abandoned or poorly maintained. Tread carefully...
