Link activation by backlinking does not have to occur immediately since we will poll for the next three days; if the backlink doesn't exist at that point in time your link would be discarded. Also, we have none of the bandwidth issues that some of the other directories have.
You can activate by either publishing a backlink - or by replying to an activation email. Either way, you have to not be a BOT! Backlinks are the preferred method because it can better contribute to both sites' page ranks. The important thing here is that you can select an activation backlink that is more appropriate for you to publish - and that others may publish your link when activating their submission. In the case of the E-Mail activation, your email may not appear in your inbox especially if you have yahoo or hotmail addresses - due to the fact that the email I send is not from "betterwindowssoftware.com" but rather thru "BetterWindowsSoftware Admin ["admin@betterwindowssoftware.com"@host.dedic8it.com]". You may simply just need to check your "trash" or "deleted items" box.
To publish a backlink simply means that you have a web page (published) that contains the link back to whichever link.
