The rssmix option is new to me. I have a more complete list of rss feed directories here. Hope this helps!

Can you update the rss mix feed later on if you want to add another feed to the mixed feed? Or do you have to create a new one and start promoting that?

I have a feeling that submitting my rss feeds to all these directories will encourage spam to my blog. What is the real point of these feed directories, does anybody actually use them? Does anybody actually search rss directories for feeds? Or are they just mechanisms for getting dodgy backlinks to your site?

If you have a blog, then submitting to all these rss directories will help in that within minuets of publishing a new article to your blog, loads of links are created automatically to that new post. This really helps get your new post indexed very quickly and spreads the word around the internet. It seems to work wonders for me.

Really? So far I see no impact on SERP due to RSS submissions.

Rss feeds are my favourite backlinking option..
But the question is which rss services should I use..
Because most of them don't work indeed.

they will never work if you don't try, they are free and don't need alot of time to submit so why not give them a try?

And don't forget to put so-called auto discovery code for your RSS feeds in your source code - there are bots (some legit) out there looking for feeds.

They go in your page head:

Some of these services really are not worth your time. Maybe Blogpulse and Yahoo.

And I question whether you get any backlinks from either of these at all. In most cases, they require you to link to them ... wtf?

Once you ping the giant, Pingomatic, it pretty much takes care of itself and propagates around the net. You do not need these services to do that for you.

And if they have any users who actually use it to search for stuff, then they do not know what they are doing. We all know that Technorati (or Google) is getting the lion share of that market.

I saw this idea last week. Submitting your RSS feed is a great way to build backlinks quickly.
