Submit to Yahoo Directory isn't free anymore?

    Hello, I want to submit my site to Yahoo directory. In the past when I want to submit there;s two option, free or pay and get listing fast but now there's only one option (pay). So, yahoo directory isn't free anymore or that's depend on region? I live in Indonesia. Thanks

    It's been a number of years since Yahoo Directory was free. :(

    It was free. Its sad that now they are charging to get listed. Yahoo, common!

    That is one of the worst part about this. Rich people or big site owners can easily afford huge some money to get a high quality Yahoo link. People like us can't afford it.

    You should have retained the free submission option wherein only high quality websites should be accepted.

    What do you think about this guys?

    I do think that Yahoo is trying to survive by charging its users. But this is not the right way to do so. They should still focus on getting more users and then charging few of them for premium stuff. Someone should convey this message to Yahoo.

    Exactly... This is what I mean too.
    Charging everyone is not the right way to do things... This is the only reason I have taken yahoo out of my list :p

    I prefer article directories, file sharing directories to submit articles. I avoid directory submission as most of the directories these days are used as link farm. We have to find new ways to build links and generate traffic :)

    Can you tell to us, what directory that good for links building? Like technorati right? I only know technorati :)

    I am not much into directory submission... I just prefer Technorati and article directories like Ezine Articles, Goarticles. Nowadays I started to get backlinks from doc sharing sites...

    So you can lot of such things to generate some traffic.
