In my experience, I've found it's not necessary to submit your site. Search engines will find your site on their own. They are constantly looking at websites, updates to content, new sites, etc. and are crawling the Internet all the time.
You can participate in yahoo questions, make sure to give out answers that are related to your niche and you can leave your link at the resource page.
The last update of Yahoo site about submit your site to yahoo is: 1: You can write address in your browser: search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html 2: Click on "Submit you site for free". 3: You are redirected to Bing and follow the onscreen instruction to submit your URL of the website. As Yahoo is owned by Microsoft which has a search engine Bing. So if you submit your site to yahoo, it will redirected to Bing because they know working together.
Totally agree. The submission thing is the thing of the past. Nobody cares about submitted sites anymore. Crawlers are way more sophisticated today than what they were in the 90's.
Hey, my site started 1 years ago, but yahoo and Bing still not find it. Maybe I will must to submit it.
Have you ever tried typing the url of your site into a search engine? If the search engine finds it, that means your site is indexed.
Yahoo has major issues, so don't worry. But if you are verified by google in your XML sitemap, then you are okay. Bing should verify your site too, do you still have the hotmail message? You could follow up from there?
