Hi. I just registered a few domain names. I won't have the content up for them for another several weeks. Should I submit the domain name anyway? Will I be punished in the rankings for doing this once I get content on there? I know engines re-index quite often, but I was just wondering if the initial lack of content would be a penalty. My domain name contains some important keywords, which is why I ask.
I would block robot visits until your site is complete or almost complete. A site with nothing on won't rank for anything and google actively discourage you submitting incomplete sites.
1. Add at least 3-4 pages of content. 2. Don't submit to search engines. 3. Get some backlinks, this way your site will be crawled faster than just submitting it to SEs.
agree with the others , make the content first then promote it. no point in raising your chances of upsetting goog
Don't jump the gun on advertiseing. Start with the most important part (Your site) Build a great site than start with submissions and what not.
It's exactly what I was going to suggest, just write an article and submit it to http://ezinearticles.com to get your backlinks. No need to submit anything. I get top 10 search engine rankings for each of my sites without submitting.
